SODIUM BICARBONATE

Sodium Bicarbonate is a crystalline structured abrasive, white in colour but often appears as a fine powder. It is a non-toxic, non-hazardous, non-flammable (non-sparking), water soluble media. This inorganic compound is high in purity allowing it to have an angular particle shape. The abrasive is extremely soft, with a Mohs hardness of 2.5. This abrasive removes coatings without causing heat buildup. sparks or abrasion to the surface being blasted.
This soft abrasive may be used on wood, brick, marble and other surfaces. Ideal for a variety of applications from heavy duty components to delicate, thin gauged materials such as aluminium, copper, etc. Suitable for open blasting applications where reduced dust levels and ease of waste disposal are essential. Used in both industrial and commercial cleaning and coating removal applications and in dry/wet blast applications where a gentle-blasting action is required.
